I bought this one several years ago in Antwerpen. Did not know the guy with the Tall Hair was behind it, but wondered why the bootlegger used this pic. It is not à very fiattering one...

No, not flattering. But at the time, this black & white photo from a newspaper file, was never
before published. He looked like a human being, and not the glamour guy in dreadful gypsy
jumpsuits, who was trying to hide his stomach behind oversized Santa belts. That's why I
picked it for the cover. In comparising to many of the later years photos, he looks good. With
or without too many Pies in his stomach.

I remember buying this from my dealer and then taking it back because I thought it was awful. First Elvis disc I ever returned.

the design stinks, my cartoon is excellent, godverdomme!
I had nothing to do with this title... they just borrowed my cartoon from
a book... a yearbook from the UK fanclub, I believe?

Didn't know you were behind this. The photo would have been nice for the "Elvis, What Happened" cover. There were no others to choose from? Nothing wrong with the rest of the cover, I agree...

      Just a few more...

There's an Elvis porn parody circulating on the net. The "Rockin' with Elvis April Fool's day" cover, would be a good cover for this parody as well...

And what about StaSera Resta Con Me: a '56 pic for a '72 concert...

Uissued Elvis: Elvis as Japanese love doll!

The In My Way cd was the very first boot cd ever done on Elvis.
Made in Italy, or Germany...Im not sure? A little while later The Hollywood Sessions
made it on to the scene. The first 'made in Holland' Elvis title...

The amount of vinyl boots that have shown up in this section must make up quite
a big chunk of what is to be found in the upcoming Bootleg Elvis book?!

Painful seeing so much trash made by people in the Elvis world thru the years!
I bet, the vinyl boots made by Dylan, Beatles and Springsteen collectors, is on
a much higher quality level, design wise!?

Hardly Ger....I've seen thousands of these releases, and theres plenty of sh.t . In fact, in the good old days of the 1980s and 1990s, Elvis' boot releases were much better ( think about the Theres Always Me releases or the Cafe Europa Sessions). Perhaps its time for a new topic about the BEST Elvis boot designs??

It is not the cartoon but the cover and the tracks on the LP.

Don't know about Dylan, Beatles and Springsteen, but I definitely know that the very best boots are coming (almost daily) from Prince collectors: rehearsals, after shows (I have - besides many others - the after show in Het Paard Van Troje in The Hague '86 - excellent stereo sound), dvd's, concerts, soundboards, try-outs, never before released songs, Worldwide TV-peformances, interviews, etc., etc. Two days after his performance at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2011 there already circulated a stunning boot of this concert on the internet: "for study purposes only!" (Yeah, right).

        Please, have a look at:

Just curious, how much did a soundboard tape cost back in the day? Would you get a chance to listen to it before buying?

Curious, alright... 2.500-3000 dollars a piece. That's when the $ still had value!
Sometimes a sample was offered. Not always though.

Wow, that was a sizable investment back then. Thanks for answering my question. Is there one that you negotiated over but could never get the seller to close? Thanks!

Only a couple o'times. But the tapes, in the end, would find a release on the Madison cds.
