I thought it was about time that I contributed a little to this great Forum.So here is my first offering of what I hope will be a continuing thread. Hopefully this will let fans see how Elvis was presented Worldwide.I hope you enjoy.


USA

When released in the USA, RCA chose to present this album in a gatefold sleeve, with bonus G.I. photos featured inside.

ARGENTINA

When this album appeared in Argentina In 1960, RCA chose to release it in a single sleeve with an unique to Argentina back sleeve.Tha back sleeve contained an army publicity photograph (Which had appeared as a bonus giveaway with the King Creole LP in the USA) on the right hand side and ads for various RCA Argentina LP's.There were no bonus G.I. shots in this LP.

Colombia

As can be seen, when released in Colombia RCA again chose to redesign the back sleeve.

CUBA

This is the only known Elvis LP to have appeared in Cuba.Once again it appears as a single sleeve design, with a different back cover to other countries.I know of four labels that this LP has appeared on.

FRANCE

RCA in France chose to release this LP in a completely different sleeve to any other country in the world.This LP was available for only a short period of time,after this period it would appear in the same sleeve as the USA issue.

JAPAN

When RCA Japan decided to re-release this LP in 1963, they decided to chang the title.The track listing is the same as previous releases.

NEW ZEALAND

When released in New Zealand a slightly different coloured background was featured on the front sleeve.A gatefold cover was chosen for this release, with the bonus G.I. photographs appearing inside.

Well that concludes the first part of this series.I hope you all enjoyed this look at how Elvis Is Back! was presented in various countries.All the best for now.Colin.

a great idea!
Shame some label photos are in bad quality... but I guess there aren't any better
ones available? Still, some really outstandig rarities that feast my eyes!

My choice would be any of the five Sun titles.
For me these are the most magical ones.

One of the kings finest albums. Thanks for posting, painterboy. I enjoyed the different variations of the LP.
I particulary like the french version. I have in my collection the two frenh EP's- Le Retour D' Elvis Vol.1 &2
on yellow RCA label. Are they the 1st to press or was it the black label that was the 1st?
