TOO MUCH MONKEY BUSINESS: The Elvis Forum

Wednesday 30th November 1955: Elvis and the Colonel fly to New York, where they register at the Hotel Victoria on Fifty--First Street.

Elvis was in New York December 1st 1955 to meet with the Colonel and RCA executives, including President Larry Kanaga and publicity director Anne Fulchino. A photo shoot has been arranged and pictures of Elvis and the Colonel, Elvis and Steve Sholes and Elvis and fellow RCA recording artists Eddy Arnold who happened to be in New York for a session. The photos are taken in RCA's Twenty-fourth Street studio, along with posed action shots that will be used on the back of Elvis' first album.

this thread was put up in August of 2010. Got less than 70 visits
at the time. Christ! How sad. Time to make up for such bad behaviour,
people! David, I wonder if it was during this day Elvis had placed a
tiny electric shock toy buzzer inside the palm of his hand when he shook
hands with some of the big RCA bobos?! Pretty insane thing to do! : )

RCA Company man Chick Crumpacker mentioned this story to me, while
in New York, back in 89...Chick knows... He was always around when
Elvis visited NY in the early days. There's one great shot of the two,
backstage at CBS Studio 50. Made by Wertheimer, but it was never
published... I only had a photocopy, Wertheimer had made for me in 89.
I Gave it to Chick at the time.

Chick must be circa 80 years young by now...Not much time left to do
an in depth interview with this wonderful man... He's got some stories to
tell about the shows in the South, back in 1955. Mr. Cajiao, wanna give
it another try?!

It must have been an amazing time to be in the music industry as it was changing so fast and to be there on the first rung of the ladder so to speak. Just think all the bigwigs thought they would get 12-18 months out of Elvis before the bubble burst and they are still earning millions off of him.

There's one photo missing from the set of Elvis and the microphone mock up. It was the only one I've ever seen taken from Elvis' right hand side, I used to think it was flipped but it wasn't. Have to see if i can find it.

Taken from a magazine scan from 1956 that was originally posted on FECC by........ Graceland Gardener. (blimey, I'm going back a bit now).

Just noticed that there were three images that didn't load in Davides initial thread, so this photo could have been one of them.
