Thanks, Jans. But still no info on the programme in 69 with
regards to what was shown on the big screen at the Montford Hall
that year...?
Elvis monthlies are needed from the summer of 69 to find out...
Anybody? Please!

What I remember of the 1969 programme, the only time I have been to Leicester:
Dave Kaye and The Dykons. I bought one of their singles there.
Loving you, with every 10 minutes a minute of white screen because this version was prepared to be shown on commercial TV
Jimmy Saville, because he looked really weird. Who remembers "normal" people anyway?
Meeting Ger and Lodewijk Rijff for the first time.
I also remember they asked "Are there any people from ....."? (insert a European country) which I thought was weird. Who cares where the audience comes from?
I do not remember if they also showed the 1968 TV special.

Versailles is indeed near to Paris.
There I saw "King Creole" and Burt Blanca was there too, seated in a wheelchair because he had been the victim of an accident.
On the underground back to Paris, where I stayed in a cheap hotel, I met the love of my life. Walked with her and her lady friend from the Paris underground station to their hotel and then went to the hotel I was staying in. Our hotels were near to eachother.
However, we did not meet in Paris again as we both were due to travel back home the next morning.
She later wrote about this in a letter in an Elvis monthly, late 1970 or early 1971.

I remember this, because "Loving you" and "King Creole" were the only movies I had not seen yet.

Afterwards, late seventies and early eighties I travelled with John Brus, Marco van der Meij and Ton van der Sluis to meetings in Brussels or Antwerp but that was to buy those new released bootleg LP's.

Loving You and the tv special were shown. Loving you was shown first i beleive and then after Jimmy Savile did his bit on stage it was the tv special.
I will scan the monthly later and put it on for everyone to read later today or tomorrow.

So what happened? Did you eventually hook up, get married, live happily ever after?

This is a reply to a UK fan/collector from Bruce E Bank the Director of Publicity and Advertising at the time of the 69 shows had just finished.
She must of asked if there were any Elvis ads etc left over from the shows...Mr Bank just said only have some postcards left and included two of them in the letter....better than nothin I guess!

We lived happily ever after, but not together.
After dating for some 4 years we decided to get married but she suddenly decided to break up.
We have been in touch since, until she died in 2009.
We both stayed single, although I have had girlfriends since.
However, no-one matched up to her.
She eventually did what she wanted to do all along, i.e. write, produce and direct movies.
She even asked me to act in one but I declined because at that time I just moved house and had settled in and had no good feelings about it.
Before the movie could be made she suddenly passed away at a much too young age.

Life sucks, sometimes.
And a lot of times it is fun.
