In my notes, held on computer, I like to keep a track of the FTD CD releases by number.

To ensure I didn't miss any, I was checking with a website which did the same thing.

Then I found I was out-of-kilter with them !

They were using a new number for ones reissued without the accompanying book !

For example, whereas I called the CD-without-the-book The Way It Was a re-release of FTD 12, they gave it a new number !

So, I started using a different site that did as I did.

But now, they've given number 105 to the A Moment In Time - 4 Days in '56 release, which is a book without any CD !

Can't win !

Ah well that's a little different in that you're assuming all releases will always be a CD release or contain a CD within the release.
We might have a DVD one day - now that's gonna bugger you up again!

Can you not include the book release sequentially in your list, does it matter that it contains no CD or is the point of the list to keep tabs on the CD's only?

Erm, why bother? Heck, I keep an Excel list of my whole collection but don't differentiate between FTD, BMG, RCA, Sony, etc. It's just a list. That way I don't get worried about someone else's system.
