TOO MUCH MONKEY BUSINESS: The Elvis Forum

In support of Colonel Snows posts I thought you might like to see some of the CDs that are available (in my collection anyway) that contain the originals of songs covered by Elvis, some also supposed to have been covered by him, and some definitely not covered by him, but of interest anyway.

John, a great input of CD's that are available with "originals" of Elvis' songs. Meanwhile we know that some "originals" mentioned on these CD's are not the originals as older versions of the song excist.

Yes you're correct, but it's still interesting to hear some of these tracks which were recorded by these artists before Elvis did his version of the songs.

In many cases Elvis followed the same arrangement as the original especially Statesmen Qt recordings.

A Pounds Sterling 9.99 CD set with 9 CD's.

I was quite surprised to see that it features Peace in the valley by Mahalia Jackson. I have been looking for that song for a long, long time. I almost had more Mahalia Jackson LP's, singles and CD's in my hands than Elvis discs.
