The song is based on the Italian tune "Torna a surriento" wit re-written lyrics.

The first known recording is from june 1905 by Mario Massa (Odeon 37125).

First recordings:
31-12-06 - Vincente Barile (Victor 3802 / 62599);
00-00-07 - Francisco Daddi (Edison cylinder 19069);
26-03-08 - Francisco Daddi (Victor 3813 / 62427);
00-00-08 - Francisco Daddi (Gramophone 52497).

I have no clips to add.
