The Blue Hawaii Box

3 LP box
Laurel Records BPM 501-A
Released 1987

The Blue Hawaii Soundtrack Sessions With Over 100 Alternate Takes!!

Again one with great design.
With a bonus booklet included.

I think Laurel Records was one of the greatest labels in the 80's

Don't forget to mention the good sound and the right speed comparing to 4 LP Blue Hawaii sessions vol. 1-2-3-4 on TCB label. Unfortunately not complete.

TCB was a label that ripped from everybody else, or worked from
X generation copied cassettes . Bunch of amateurs.

When this box was talked about on fecc, years ago, Kempo Dick,
one of the guys working on the definitive vinyl boot book, surprised
all viewers with scans of the 3 PHOTO INNER sleeves made for this
box ! These inner sleeves ( black & white) did never come as part of
the box, for the simple reason they were cut too small, making it
impossible to fit the Lps inside these sleeves! Only one set of 3 inner
sleeves was saved. All others thrown into the dustbin ( 3000 of them!)
The one surviving set was given to a friend of Mr. Laurel, way back
in the 80s. He, in return, traded these with Kempo. Mr. Laurel,
disgusted with 3000 no good inner sleeves, didn't bother to save a few
for himself... Shit happens.

Hi Ger,
This is what you wrote on this matter.

.. The story on the "lost" Blue Hawaii inner box sleeves [posted by Kempodick, on this topic],
could well be true...! After some serious thinking, done by my boss, this afternoon,
he showed me several photos, filed under:
Laurel/ BH Box, that are the same as the ones posted by Dick!
But, the old bugger still cant remember having them used on inner sleeves,
that turned out to be too small, to hold the records!
The old man, doesnt have a set of them inner sleeves himself...
One mystery, that has to be solved here!!!

Hope you and Kempo don't mind me posting this here.

Were the inner sleeves in black and white or in full color ?

black & white, Jans.
I wonder what this only surviving set would be worth
to a die hard collector?
