Elvis was famous for saying he would record more rockers if he could find em ! with that in mind what is ur opinion of his last truly great studio rocker ?
My guess would be BURNING LOVE, but there could be a few bubbling under that he made later th_icon_confused1.gif ur thoughts guys ?

Promised Land is certainly a `great' rocker, but I am also very fond of TROUBLE and Way Down isn't too bad either. For the Heart I take more as a country rocker but still pretty damn cool.

Promised Land was the last truly great rocker, even rocked harder than Burning Love I think. What came after that was more country rock than rock.

Without a doubt I plump for T-R-O-U-B-L-E. A great rocker that Elvis attacks with zeal. The excellent guitar and piano from Burton and Hardin respectively, really add to the songs performance.

Love T-R-O-U-B-L-E myself, but the release seemed to suffer from a poor mix, whats the best mix available now for this ?

"For The Heart". Love that song. It is still a rocker even though it's slower than some of them. Elvis at his best!

The studio version of Patch it Up is one way underated rocker , I remember when i first heard the TTWII album [vinyl of course] Patch it up stood out as a great heart and soul number, and the first time a saw the footage as well, i loved it !

T-R-O-U-B-L-E is a song I personally do like very much. It is just a high speed train passing by IMO. Way Down is great as is For The Heart but both can't compete with Promised Land in my taste.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say "Way Down".

"Promised Land" improves on the original IMO.

"T-R-O-U-B-L-E" could be classified as Country Rock and therefore not straight-out rock.
