I know it's been typed out here a few times, but here's a quick video aid for those that are still not sure:

Note, when I made this video it was only after the = in the coding, youtube has changed it to a / recently. Everything else is the same.

WHOOSH!!

"Hope that helps".

Yep, nice one. I didn't know about the 'share' button on the YouTube pages.

Thanks for doing this video.

I've suggested before, we should have a HOW TO section - how to post youtube videos, how to link pics to a topic, how to quote stuff from other threads, how to transfer music files to each other, how to ermmmmm, well, I'm sure there are some other ideas.

Basil, I added the "Hope That Helps" signature line of our boy just for a little laugh.

John, Those instructions would be great. I have problems doing multiple quotes all in one reply, and also pulling out a single reply from a previous reply. It never works out right.

For instance, you say something, Basil replies, I just want his reply, but when I hit quote it takes all of it, you'rs and his. If I try to separate it, it get's allll messed up. I just do a bold on the line I'm referencing, and go on, but I'd like to know how to do it right.

I have a how to question:

If I want to put pictures in-between the text in a post, how do I do that?

Meaning, not adding pictures as attachments (which are placed at the bottom of the post)...?

I'm not with you.

If you use a website to store your pics [like PhotoBucket] you can copy them & paste them anywhere in your post that you choose.

Similarly, if you upload a photo from your PC as an 'attachment', when it invites you to 'place inline' you can position the cursor where you want the pic to appear.

Doesn't have to be at the bottom of the post !

That 'place in line' thing can be a tad tricky.
It took me a few posts to get it down. I'm there now, but the thing is fickle sometimes.

Most posters can reply to a post 'quoting' the original.

But what if you want to 'quote' from another poster, when you're already 'quoting' one ?

Go to the 2nd one's post, highlight & 'copy' the text you want.

Now 'quote' the first one's post & 'paste' the copied text in underneath what's already there.

Then highlight the text you've just pasted & press the 'quote' option shown at the top.

The text will now have "
" at the beginning of it.

Edit it to read
............. or whoever.

Then you can add your comments beneath as normal & 'submit'.

Works every time !

Thanks! Works fine!

If you put opening
s in your text without using corresponding closing
s, like Colin just did, the next person might have trouble quoting your post.

That looks a total mess, Kuenzer !

If you try & 'quote' my example it ends up looking like a dog's dinner !

As Torben has pointed out !

Don't have a dog, but when I did, he never ate nothing like that.

You're right !

All these years I've used the expression to mean 'a mess'.

But I just looked it up, and it actually means 'dressed or arranged in a flashy way' !

Just proves that you're never too old to learn something...............

You might just get in trouble there !

To use the phrase correctly, you gotta say:

"You look like a dog's dinner !"

or:

"Look at you, all dressed up like a dog's dinner !"

Keep us posted how you get on.............................

They come up like that as default, to me anyway. I guess you go into the User Control Panel and change it.

Click on: User Control Panel

Click on: Board preferences

Click on: Edit display options

In 'Display post order direction' change 'ascending' to 'descending'
